Suppose an interfaith or secular community organization wants to tell donors that an X20 upgrade is greener. Start its substantiation register with what the documents actually identify: Qualcomm’s February 21, 2017 release describes a 10 nm FinFET process for X20; its February 11, 2016 release describes a 14 nm FinFET process for X16. These are attributable manufacturing-process descriptions, not environmental measurements. [x20][x16]
The next entry belongs specifically to the older system. Qualcomm said X16, the WTR5975 transceiver and QET4100 envelope tracker were designed together with thermal efficiency and power consumption among the optimization aims. A donor update may accurately attribute that design statement to Qualcomm. It should retain the named components and the 2016 date rather than transfer the claim to X20. [x16]
Add a separate row for every proposed benefit. Lower electricity use needs comparable device energy measurements; longer battery life needs relevant runtime evidence. Reduced carbon and avoided waste need lifecycle evidence suited to those claims. In this proposed register, each remains unsubstantiated by these releases. The process labels and the older system’s design language do not supply those missing comparisons. [x20][x16]
Our suggested communications rule is to publish only the accurately attributed specification or design description that the register supports, while leaving environmental-benefit language pending evidence. That gives donors a clear account of what an organization can substantiate without confusing an engineering label with a stewardship achievement. It is a truthfulness recommendation, not a finding that anyone deceived donors, legal clearance or a conclusion about religious practice. [x20][x16]
